How Do UV Shoes Work?

There is a special pigment in the dye used on the shoe which reacts to UV light. The dye changes the shape of the pigment molecules. This causes the color of the shoe to change and is called photochromism. The shoe only remains colored when exposed to the sun. It fades shortly after they are no longer exposed.
